Burnham-on-Crouch
Burnham is situated on the north bank of the River Crouch on a peninsula of land to the southeast of Chelmsford, the county town of Essex. The town receives many visitors throughout the summer months, many of them yachtsmen taking advantage of the sailing clubs, enjoying the cruising and racing that is an essential element of the community.
How to get here
Yachtsmen will already be very familiar about how to reach Burnham. However, it is also easily reached by both road and train. Or you could take to the water and try the ferry!

Buses services, 31X from Chelmsford via Maldon and D6 from South Woodham Ferrers operate regularly. Within the area the Dengie 100 bus link provides regular mini coach transfer between all parts of the Dengie 100.

Alternatively at weekends you could take the Burnham Ferry between Essex Marina, Wallasea Island and Burnham-on-Crouch Town Quay. Their Dial-a-Ferry runs 6 days a week through the summer months and links with Southend buses.
